Secondary Year 7 - 10
Ryan Catholic College provides a rigorous curriculum for its secondary students in years 7-10, which is aligned with the learning endorsed by the Australian Curriculum. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including the Key Learning Areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, The Arts, and Languages.
In years 7 and 8, students are exposed to a range of core and elective subjects, which they may choose to explore further in years 9 and 10 to pursue their interests and passions.
During Year 9, students maintain their focus on studying Religion, English, Mathematics, History, Health & Physical Education, and Science, with Technology being incorporated throughout all subjects via a BYOD program. In addition, students select two electives to study for 18 months each, along with two-semester electives. The available elective subjects provide an opportunity for students to experiment with potential subjects that align with their career pathways.
The curriculum at Ryan Catholic College for years 7-10 is designed to provide students with a challenging and comprehensive education that prepares them for future academic and professional success. The curriculum also aims to foster a love of learning and a sense of social responsibility, encouraging students to become active and engaged members of their communities.
For more information about the subjects we offer in Years 9 & 10, please review our Secondary Handbook.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and waters, the Wulgurukaba, and that this country has been a place of learning and ceremony for tens of thousands of years. We also acknowledge the neighbouring language groups as brothers and sisters of the land. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. May we walk gently and peacefully on this land together.
